West Gainesville
West Gainesville is full of plenty of large University of Florida student housing complexes. While some prefer this area because there are fewer people and less traffic, for most students, it is too far away from UF. Downtown Gainesville

You will never have a dull moment because downtown is home to a variety of boutiques, eateries and stores for you to explore and enjoy. Make sure your UF apartments provide parking, otherwise parking your car everyday will be a source of frustration for you.
Sorority & South Gainesville
This region is conveniently located in close proximity to Downtown, Midtown and Archer Road. Therefore, you will always be near the action. However, within the area, there sections that are much less developed and less populated. Though it may be quieter, it is also less exciting and you will need to travel outside of the region when you want to go somewhere.
Archer Road
Archer Road has countless restaurants and Gainesville student housing options. You could live in this area and never leave it because everything you need is located within a few minutes. However, because of this, the area has slightly less charm and there is often a fair amount of traffic.
